\"Women in Mining\" Study: Towards Gender Inclusion and Equity<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, with the sixth version<\/strong> of our \"Women in Mining\" <\/em> study, which we developed together with RIM Chile, Spencer Stuart, Acci\u00f3n Empresas and Compromiso Minero, we hope to once again contribute to the conversation on such important and necessary topics as inclusion, equity and retention of female talent in mining.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Although in recent years there have been more women in mining, it is necessary that their incorporation be sustainable over time. Inclusion and diversity policies are no longer enough; we must promote a cultural change that sustains these policies. In other words, it is also necessary that they have the conditions and spaces to deploy their talent in a competitive and still very masculinized environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

If in 2018 the figure for women's participation in the sector was 8.4%, by 2022 it rose to 15%, undoubtedly a great advance, but still with room for significant growth and improvement in the other aspects of working life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

According to our study, men have more years of experience in mining than women, while women have a lower percentage of participation in decision-making positions. There is still a way to go, mainly by increasing the number of women in positions of power and in the more operational areas within the industry, which have traditionally been occupied by men.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

In this sense, mining, along with promoting access for women, must generate the conditions for them to develop in a comprehensive manner and make a career towards positions of greater responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

From our Research Department, our goal is to contribute with knowledge to the conversations that mining is having today, in order to plan for a greener, more inclusive and sustainable future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

In the last ten years we have conducted more than fifty studies for the areas of Supply, Projects, People, Environment Analysis and Sustainability in the mining industry, analyzing trends and market information and its environment, in order to provide advice and permanent intelligence to the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

In the case of Women in Mining, we generated a more qualitative and in-depth analysis of how all the metrics, policies and what is being carried out, both at the country and organizational levels, is being perceived by men and women, and also, where mining companies should focus on improvements to continue reducing the gaps in the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

In Vantaz Group, and as part of the mining ecosystem, we have taken on these challenges by implementing internal policies in favor of equity and professional development of women, who today represent 44% of our employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, we are committed to empowering women in leadership roles and management positions. Within the group, 36% of our leaders are women, and we continue to promote opportunities for growth and development so that this figure continues to grow. In this regard, we are proud to be a vehicle for the incorporation of more women into the mining sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
