The industrial communications network for crushers and conveyor belts had a logical architecture with sub-optimal physical technology and needed to be aligned with the rest of the company. This resulted in an isolated site that was not integrated with the rest of the plant’s OT services, and therefore there was a lack of compliance in different areas, including safety, remote access, and management.

Case 4 | Rogue Rogue Remotization

Project description:
Remote operation of rock breaker. The rock breaker operation in two important mining operations was the only process that was not undertaken in the IOC but was carried out locally in the crushers. This led to delays in processing rock jams and to risks to the health of operators. Due to this, rock breakers needed to become remotely operated in the IOC with all the necessary contingency measures to guarantee operational continuity.
