This public-private collaboration will allow the initiation of research, development and innovation projects aligned with technological solutions in the mining industry.
The leading mining consulting firm Vantaz Group and the leading regional capital studies center, Universidad de Antofagasta, signed an important collaboration agreement to develop specific technology for the mining industry.
The agreement was made official on Tuesday, November 2 by Vantaz partners, Juan Cariamo and Pedro Gómez; the manager of this company, Héctor Miño; the Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation and Graduate Studies of the Universidad de Antofagasta, Álvaro Restuccia; the dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Marcelo Cortés; and the coordinator of the Transfer and Licensing Office, Alejandra Portillo Lobos.
This public-private collaboration will make it possible to initiate research, development and innovation projects aligned with technological solutions in the mining industry, thanks to the complementary strengths of both institutions.
The Universidad de Antofagasta has scientific researchers in the development of new technologies, doctors in robotics and automatic control. In addition, the university has centers and laboratories for the development of these new technologies. On the other hand, Vantaz has extensive experience in the mining business and a vision of the specific needs of this industry.
This project is made up of the team integrated by the Deputy Director of OTL Innovation Projects, Alexander Ibarra; the Legal Assistant Javiera Ledezma; the Robotics and Automation researcher, Carlos Santibáñez; the Deputy Director of Innovator Services, Nadac Reales, and the Senior Vantaz consultant María José Rosati.
