In order to know the perception of different variables and expectations of the Chilean mining market in key issues such as investments, prices, costs, labor, growth expectations and mining projects, the mining consulting firm Vantaz Group and the CESCO) launched the 6th version of the "Signals of Mining Chile" index.
A través de las cinco versiones anteriores, el análisis ha podido captar cómo la pandemia, el proceso constitucional, la discusión del Royalty en Chile, o procesos de inestabilidad social, han influido en las perspectivas de la industria minera en los países consultados.
Daniela Desormeaux, Research Director at Vantaz, pointed out that "the value of measuring expectations increases when we do it continuously over time. It is interesting to monitor expectations at a given moment, but it is even more valuable to compare them over the years".
For his part, CESCO's Executive Director, Jorge Cantallopts, stressed the importance of having accurate and up-to-date information in times of uncertainty such as the present, "when the scarcity of minerals has a direct impact on market conditions. The Index has become an indispensable tool for identifying the main perceptions and trends affecting the mining industry, both nationally and globally.
For this new version of the index, experts foresee a trend towards better prospects for investment in the medium and long term, considering the sustained increase in the price of copper and the dynamism of the Chinese market in recent months.
The study was launched on Monday, April 15, during CESCO week, and the results will be available in June on the Vantaz Group and CESCO websites.
