Experiences

Vantaz provided a renewed, up-to-date and highly available technological solution. This was the company's first control system to be upgraded to a higher version that included changes in the technological architecture.

Vantaz migrated the Bailey technology equipment to Rockwell to improve integration and technology projection in the dry cathode area. The service was an integral part of the detail engineering for this migration. The work plan was phased from physical survey to project management and reporting. Deliverables included detailed reports, solution workshops, architecture definition, implementation strategies, and validation of the solution by the Rockwell supplier.

Vantaz developed a Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) for the control systems, focusing on the 800xA and Wonderware systems. This service included DRP development, cold proof-of-concept testing, and gap identification with a focus on cybersecurity events and infrastructure failures. Deliverables included risk mitigation, service disaster preparedness, and alignment with business objectives and risks. In addition, SCP and DRP documentation and strategies are provided for each facility, with training for key.

Experiences

Our customer required a significant upgrade to their IT architecture for the Hydrometallurgy (Cathode) DCS. They were looking for a new virtualized and highly available DCS system to ensure business continuity of critical systems with reduced power, cooling and space requirements. Working closely with the Control Systems and IS (PCN) teams, upgrade alternatives were identified and evaluated using a virtualized approach. The solution included procurement and third party selection consulting, as well as extensive testing to validate test protocols and quality control events.

Remoting of the rockbreaker was implemented in two major mining operations to improve efficiency and security. Vantaz identified the key requirements and designed a flexible solution based on virtualization that allowed the rockbreaker to be remotely controlled by the Integrated Operations Centre.The solution included a virtual client compatible with the control system and a wireless joystick that met the customer's communication standards. In addition, contingency sites were established and assistance was provided in selecting the appropriate technology provider.

Our company optimized digital processes and workflows and implemented specialized solutions to improve operations in Geoscience & Resource Definition Management, adding value to the business. The level of digital maturity was measured and a roadmap for technology implementation was proposed.
