Vantaz Group and CESCO launch fourth version of the "Signals from Mining" study in Chile, Peru and Australia

This is the fourth version in Chile, Peru and the first in Australia. The study aims to measure the perceptions of the actors in the mining world regarding the country, business and the economy.

The mining consulting firm Vantaz Group and the Center for Copper and Mining Studies (CESCO) have launched the 4th version of the "Mining Signals" study to analyze the expectations of different actors in the Chilean mining sector regarding the country and the industry, in key areas such as prices, demand, production, employment and investment.

On this occasion, the study will include the perspectives of Chile, Peru and Australia, thus expanding its response universe. "The weight of the mining industry in these three countries is very relevant within their economies, so knowing these perspectives will contribute to the formulation of public policies. This is especially relevant for Chile, considering the social moment the country is going through, even in the midst of a constituent process, the discussion around the royalty, and the reaction of the market after two years of pandemic", says Jorge Cantallopts, Executive Director of CESCO.

Daniela Desormeaux, Director of Research at Vantaz, points out that "it is important to note that for the first time the study will be carried out in Australia. We have partnered with Austmine to gather the perspectives of the Australian market on basically the same variables as Chile and Peru, only with a focus on minerals that are of interest to them, such as iron ore".

Regarding the working methodology, Desormeaux explains that the survey maintains the division into four groups: macro-environment, mining industry, micro-environment and demographic variables. Regarding the mining industry group, this year, in addition to copper, two other minerals are included, such as lithium carbonate and iron. "The interesting thing about the study is that it allows us to analyze how expectations have evolved over time. It is a new edition that will also allow us to compare the prospects between Chile, Peru and Australia," he says.

The results will be released during November and will be available through the Vantaz Group and Cesco websites.
