Within the framework of CESCO Week Santiago 2022, the Center for Copper and Mining Studies (CESCO) and the mining consulting firm Vantaz Group launched the third version of the "Mining Signals" survey, a study that seeks to gather the expectations of the main industry players in Chile and Peru on key issues such as economic growth, prices, demand, production, employment and investment.
Alejandra Wood, Executive Director of CESCO, comments that this survey allows us to monitor the direction of the decisions that the mining industry will take in the future, "especially considering the high volatility that the variables measured have shown due to the changes in the economic, political and social context in Chile and Peru, but also due to the international scenario that, for example, has boosted the price of raw materials". For his part, Juan Cariamo, Partner and Co CEO of Vantaz Group, adds that "in previous versions we have seen a deterioration of expectations in both markets, so this measurement will be key to review whether the trend continues downward or we see a change in the curve".
In the Peruvian market, "Mining Signals" has the support of Rumbo Minero - America Mining, one of the most important specialized magazines in that country. Jorge León Benavides, CEO of Grupo Digamma, says that for Rumbo Minero - America Mining, "it is an honor to collaborate with the CESCO study, which will be presented at our international mining fair Expomina Peru 2022, from April 27 to 29, we are sure that these types of studies are important to measure the current situation of the mining sectors and help in decision making".
In Peru, the results of the study -which will be available for response for two weeks- will be presented by Daniela Desormeaux, Director of CESCO and Director of Research of Vantaz Group, during the forum "Investment Climate: Markets and Prices" to be held during Expomina Peru on April 27. While in Chile, the disclosure will take place during the first week of May.
We invite the entire Chilean and Peruvian mining ecosystem to participate. The survey will be available on CESCO's website. www.cesco.cl
