Vantaz Group participates in HackaMine BHP 2023
For the third year in a row, the Vantaz Group has accepted the invitation to participate in the HackaMine mentoring program, an initiative that seeks to identify highly skilled talent with the competencies and technological skills necessary to meet the mining challenges of today and tomorrow.
With the purpose of generating greater social value in the Antofagasta Region, the BHP Autonomy Program, in collaboration with Fundación Chile through ChileGlobal Ventures, is holding a new edition of “HackaMine: Talents for Industry 4.0”.
This is an initiative that seeks to identify the best final year students and/or recent graduates in Engineering and Science, with a focus on Digital Technologies, who are part of the Heuma Consortium (Universidad de Antofagasta and Universidad Católica del Norte) and who wish to participate in a unique immersion experience where they can test their skills based on real challenges in the mining industry.
The goal is to become one of the five winning talents who will then participate in a career development program aimed at increasing job opportunities and advancement in an environment that promotes diversity and inclusion.
To make HackaMine possible, BHP calls on its technology partners (Vantaz Group, Accenture and NTT Data), companies that, through their professionals, make their experience available to accompany the students, guide them and help them resolve their doubts so that they can respond to the challenge they face.
Andrés Medina, partner of Vantaz Group, affirms that “it is tremendously enriching to see how the students develop, acquiring new analytical perspectives in their approaches, in search of reaching the goal in multidisciplinary groups”.
Vantaz is proud to be part of this initiative "that promotes human capital as a focus for the development of the mining industry and the Antofagasta region. Projects like this are what we need to train our professionals of the future and attract digital talent to mining," added Medina.
For the winning teams, HackaMine offers technical mentoring from industry professionals, the opportunity to work with real data, and to learn about mining issues directly from operating professionals.
