Vantaz Group starts operations in Canada

Within the framework of the PDAC (Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada), the most important mining fair in the world taking place this week in Toronto, the national consulting firm announced that it already has two projects in execution and operations in three Canadian cities.

Toronto, Monday, March 4, 2024 .- With 24 years of experience and offices in the main mining countries of the world (Chile, Peru and Australia), they now add Canada, with a base in Toronto and subsidiaries in Quebec and Saskatchewan. Vantaz Group is currently the largest Chilean consulting firm dedicated exclusively to mining in the country.

Juan Cariamo, Partner and Co-CEO of Vantaz Group, states that the company's purpose is to “technologically and strategically transform mining in Chile and the world” and to consolidate itself as a global consulting firm, through solutions in productivity, technologies, asset management, studies and sustainability.

It is worth noting that this start of operations not only represents a milestone in Vantaz Group's internationalization process, but also stands out in a context where only 5% of domestic mining suppliers offer services abroad.

"The delegation of Chilean companies providing mining goods and services present at PDAC 2024 is characterized by a high level of technology and innovation applied to their processes, which makes them very competitive on a global scale. The experience of this company is an example of this, and it is gratifying for us that it is now opening operations in a highly competitive market such as Canada. This milestone encourages us to continue working on the internationalization of this sector, since these are companies that contribute to the added value, refinement and diversification of our export matrix," commented Prochile's General Manager, Ignacio Fernández.

In this sense, and considering that mining is Chile's main economic activity, contributing 15.2% of the country's total GDP annually, it is crucial for Chilean suppliers to expand, innovate and market their solutions and products in international markets.

The attractive Canadian mining market

The Canadian mining industry is steadily growing. In 2022, it contributed US$125 billion to the national GDP (5% of the annual total) and was responsible for 22% of Canada's total national exports, employing 665,000 people directly and indirectly across the country.

Chile and Canada have a rich trade history. Chile's total exports to Canada in 2022 will exceed US$1,362.7 million, 11.42% more than in 2021. Of this amount, US$576.5 million are goods, US$773 million are copper and US$13.1 million are services.

Vantaz Group's operations will be staffed by Canadian professionals who will work closely with teams in other countries where the Group has offices. Initially, they will be dedicated to projects related to technology and productivity, but later they will come with their complete offer that includes solutions in sustainability, asset management and studies for various operational and economic aspects of the industry.

According to Juan Cariamo, "we will take this new step with our own way of doing things and always with the values of the Vantáztica culture, that is, by applying criteria of collaboration, closeness to the customer's needs and flexibility on a daily basis"
